July is here and the best summer ever is in full swing in Reno! With so many people looking to make up for lost time, events throughout the city were packed with people eager to let loose and enjoy the company of others! We have some highlights to share from all the exciting happenings in June. We’ve also rounded up tons of options for outings in July that will be big fun for locals and visitors alike. Pineapple Pedicabs has connected with some new partners, too. Be sure to check out the deals you can receive while supporting local businesses you love.
Pride is Alive and Well in Reno, Plus More June Fun
🌈LGBTQ Pride Month🌈
Pineapple Pedicabs are always flying a rainbow flag! We are proud to show our pride and inclusivity all year round. But that doesn’t mean we can’t take time to recognize the massive progress made towards equality for all LGBTQ members of the human family during Pride Month.
In honor of LGBTQ Pride Month, the crosswalk under the arch was painted in rainbow colors by the Reno City Manager’s Office in partnership with the Reno Public Works Department.
🚚Food Truck Fridays🚚
Food Truck Fridays are back in a big way! After a long hiatus, Renoites were hungry and COVID was canceled. Thousands of people came out to support the food vendors, taste delicious offerings, and take back Fridays.
Pineapple Pedicabs was busy helping happy people get to and from the event. Parking is always a challenge so we will be there for you every Food Truck Friday this season. The best way to get a ride with us at Food Truck Fridays is to wait on one of our brightly colored Pineapple Pedicabs Pickup Spots. Super busy events like this make it hard to find riders or take phone call ride requests. Just look for our logo on the street and wait. We will be there shortly to pick you up.
🏍Street Vibrations🏍
If you heard a rumble around town on the first weekend in June, it sure wasn’t thunder. Pineapple Pedicabs were pedaling fast to try to keep up with our motorcycle friends during the much anticipated Street Vibrations motorcycle rally. Live music, vendors, poker runs, and slow races were all part of the fun at this year’s spring rally, which was held at the Sand’s Neon Line. The next rally is planned for September and we look forward to helping bikers get where they need to be safely with the wind in their hair.
🖌Locomotion Downtown Mural Painting🖌
Every Renoite is grateful for artist Brad Carney and the amazing facelift his mural paintings have given downtown Reno. The work has made such a major impact that it made the New York Times! I was one of the lucky volunteers who contributed by painting a couple of the big blue stars. Book one of our Biggest Little Downtown Mural or Burning Man Art and Mural tours and see this new addition up close and personal.
💦Reno River Festival💦
June started out a bit chilly but that was short-lived. By the time the Reno River Festival rolled around, the people of Reno were HOT HOT HOT! It was so great to see everyone cooling off and chilling with friends in the Truckee River.
🤠Reno Rodeo🤠
Woo eee and yee haw! The Reno Rodeo was a rompin’ good time. We knew it would be a busy event for us as parking at the rodeo is nearly impossible. For ten bopping days the city of Reno was turned into a cowboy town with boots scootin’ and hats tippin’. We were mighty obliged to shuttle gals and guys to and from the event.
Giveaways to Lucky Pineapple Pedicabs Followers
If you haven’t already, hop over to Instagram and start following Pineapple Pedicabs. June kicked off our new monthly giveaways, which you can enter every month on Instagram. A big congrats goes out to dustymarie333 and juessiegirlllc.
